The proceeds from the 2010 American Girl Fashion Show will benefit the Junior League of Pittsburgh's Healthy Kids Initiative.

The Junior League of Pittsburgh is committed to helping local children lead and maintain a healthy lifestyle.  Through nutritional programs and mentorships, the League will give girls and boys the tools for healthy eating, building self-esteem and goal setting.

Junior Leagues' Kids in the Kitchen
Kids in the Kitchen is a program designed to address the urgent issues surrounding childhood obesity and poor nutrition.  The League partners with local chefs, nutritionists and community organizations to provide recipes and demonstrations that teach kids to lead a healthier lifestyle.

Strong Women Strong Girls
Strong Women Strong Girls is an emerging non-profit program that supports the leadership and self-esteem development of young women and girls.  The program has an innovative after school model. It uses college undergraduate women as role models for at-risk girls in grades 3-5. The mentors teach the girls to build self-esteem, leadership and other skills for life-long success.

Done In A Day (DIAD) Projects
By partnering with other organizations throughout the Pittsburgh region, the JLP deploys trained volunteers to help at their events that specifically have an impact on children and children's health.  Current and past DIAD partners include: Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, Habitat for Humanity, Jewish Community Center, Family House, Sister's Place, Hill House Association and many more.
