“Will” You Be My Valentine? Event Recap: Celebrating Love and Security with the Junior League of Pittsburgh

On Saturday, February 10th, the Junior League of Pittsburgh hosted a unique “Will” You Be My Valentine? event at Field Day in Pittsburgh. This lighthearted and informative gathering offered attendees the ultimate gift for their loved ones: peace of mind through estate planning.

The event kicked off at 11:00 a.m. and continued until 1:00 p.m., welcoming both League members and the general public. Guests enjoyed delicious bites and refreshing cocktails, with both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options available. The festive atmosphere was further enhanced by the Valentine’s Day theme, reminding everyone that love can be expressed in many ways, including through thoughtful planning for the future.

The highlight of the event was a presentation by trusted attorney Ashley Sharek, Esq. of Entrusted Legacy Law. Ms. Sharek demystified estate planning, making it accessible and understandable for everyone, regardless of their age, wealth, or marital status. Her engaging presentation addressed key questions such as:

  • Why is an estate plan the ultimate love letter?
  • How can it protect your family’s financial future and minimize stress during difficult times?
  • What are the crucial elements you need in your plan, regardless of your legal past?
  • How can you ensure your love story is kept private and handled according to your wishes?
  • How do you maintain and update your plan to keep it relevant?
  • What is the true cost of estate planning, and how can you avoid costly mistakes?

Ms. Sharek’s expertise and warmth put the audience at ease, encouraging open dialogue and thoughtful questions. The event successfully demonstrated how estate planning is not just about legal documents, but about expressing love and care for the well-being of your loved ones.

Overall, the “Will” You Be My Valentine? event offered a valuable and heartwarming experience. It served as a gentle reminder that love extends beyond the present moment, and that planning for the future is a thoughtful and romantic way to show your loved ones how much they mean to you.
