The Junior League of Pittsburgh, Inc. 2010 Scholarship
Scholarship Criteria
Items in bold must be submitted with the completed scholarship application. Applications that are incomplete will not be considered.
- Applicant must be a female graduating from an Allegheny County public or private high school in the spring of 2009.
- Applicant must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 (B) or better. A transcript must be submitted with the application.
- Applicant must have completed at least 100 hours of volunteer service during high school. Volunteer service means service to the community through an organization or program and does not include extra-curricular school activities. A letter(s) from the person(s) supervising the volunteer activities verifying the hours must be provided with the application.
- Applicant must submit an essay with the application describing how her volunteer work has influenced her life and goals. This essay must be double-spaced and no more than two (2) pages in length.
- Scholarship award must be used for continuing education at an accredited college or university during the 2009-2010 academic year. A copy of the applicant's letter of acceptance to an accredited college or university must be provided with the application.
- Winner will be announced to the media.
- Submit the completed application with essay, transcript, supervisor's verification of volunteer hours, and letter of college or university acceptance by April 15, 2009, to:

Reflecting our ongoing commitment to promoting voluntarism, the Junior League of Pittsburgh awards a college scholarship annually to a young woman who served as an active volunteer during her high school career.
